Conquistador Council

Scouting America, Conquistador Council
Headquartered in Roswell, Scouting America, Conquistador Council proudly serves families and communities across seven counties in the rugged and wide-open landscapes of Southeastern New Mexico. From the towering peaks of the Sacramento Mountains to the endless skies of the Chihuahuan Desert, our region is rich with adventure, history, and opportunity. Home to world-famous destinations like Carlsbad Caverns National Park, the mysterious legacy of Roswell, and generations of ranching, energy, and military heritage, Southeastern New Mexico inspires the spirit of exploration and leadership that Scouting is built upon.
Our mission is to prepare the next generation of leaders by developing character, teaching citizenship, and promoting physical, mental, and spiritual fitness. Through outdoor adventure, service, teamwork, and leadership experiences, we help young people grow into confident and capable individuals ready to make a difference in their communities and beyond.
We proudly offer programs for young men and women ages 6–20, including Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring. Whether hiking desert trails, camping beneath some of the darkest night skies in the country, serving local communities, or learning career skills through hands-on experiences, Scouts in Southeastern New Mexico discover adventure, purpose, and lifelong friendships.
