A Weekend of Camaraderie and Conservation: Troops Unite at Cedar Creek Campground

Over the weekend, Troop 59 of Ruidoso, Troop 97 of Hobbs, and Troop 72 of Roswell joined forces at Cedar Creek Campground #3 for a memorable experience of camping and conservation. With a total of 27 individuals, including 13 youth and 6 adults, the troops embarked on a mission to contribute to the preservation of the Lincoln National Forest while fostering bonds of friendship and camaraderie.

The collective effort resulted in an impressive 108 man-hours of service dedicated to various conservation tasks. From removing railroad ties to installing retaining block walls, the Troops demonstrated their commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. Amidst the hard work, there were moments of laughter, teamwork, and shared satisfaction in making a tangible difference in the local ecosystem.

But it wasn't all work and no play. The weekend also provided opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment of the great outdoors. Campfires crackled, casting a warm glow over the campground as scouts gathered around to share stories and roast marshmallows.
