[10/7/2025 - Roswell, Artesia, NM] Conquistador Council of Scouting America, is proud to announce its 100th Anniversary Gala, a milestone celebration honoring a century of Scouting in Southeast New Mexico.

The roar of engines, the thrill of speed, and the pride of Roswell—THIS WEEK, September 10–13, history will be made as Roswell hosts the National Championship Air Races for the very first time.

On a beautiful, albeit warm, evening in Artesia, New Mexico, nearly 50 attendees gathered at Baish Veterans Park to witness a moment that will live in the annals of Scouting in our region: the presentation of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award (DESA) to Mr. St. Clair Peyton Yates, Jr.—known to many simply as “P.Y.”

We’re looking to identify Scouts, troops and troop leaders who can speak to media outlets on the powerful connection between Scouting and sports.

On February 12, 2025, sixteen Scouts and eight leaders from Scouts BSA, Cub Scouts, and Venturing gathered for a historic event.

Mason was awarded his Eagle Scout Rank with Troop 270 on December 16, 2024, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Carlsbad New Mexico.

On February 1, 2025, the Conquistador Council celebrated 100 years of Scouting at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell.

On Monday, February 3, 2025, the Lions Club Scouting Service Award was presented to Carol Parman of the Roswell Mid-Day Lions Club.

The Oil Patch District Banquet was held on January 25th, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church, in Hobbs NM.
