Each evening during the National Championship Air Races, friends gathered at ENMU–Roswell’s Performing Arts Center for our Scouting Movie Nights. The mix was wonderful—some familiar faces returning, and a majority of new ones joining us for the first time. Together, we enjoyed good films, great conversations, and the shared excitement of Scouting.
Scouting alumni made up much of the audience, and their energy was contagious. Many picked up our 2025 Air Race Patches not only for themselves but for their entire crews. And at the end of the Scouting America trailer, the theater erupted in loud cheers—a reminder of the pride and joy that Scouting still inspires.
Behind the scenes, Scout and adult volunteers showed up every night—greeting guests, working concessions, and staying late to tidy the theater. Their cheerful service made the event possible, and we are deeply grateful.
The University is already looking ahead to next year, and so are we. 2025 was a foundational year for both the National Championship Air Races in Roswell and for our Council’s growing partnership with ENMU–Roswell. We now have a strong base to build on—continuing to promote Scouting in our community, engage alumni, and raise funds that directly support our young people.
Thank you to every alumni, friend, and volunteer who helped launch this effort. With your ideas, participation, and support, these Movie Nights can grow into an annual Roswell tradition that blesses both the Air Races and our Scouts for years to come.
