Exploring Post 124 with the Lovelace Regional Hospital held their end of year pizza party on May 21, 2025 celebrating a year of new friends, learning and practicing new skills, and getting ready for job shadow placement!
The Explorers showcased skills they learned throughout their first year from leadership at Lovelace Regional Hospital that included – splinting broken arms and legs, dressing in PPE gear and the correct sequence to remove the PPE gear, finding and measuring blood pressure and heart rate and more! Each Explorer was given their own blood pressure cuff and stethoscope to practice!
Assistant Scout Executive, Patrick Smith, served as the actor for the students to showcase their skills to parents and family.
Post 124 is planning on attending the various community Health Fairs and Expos in Roswell upcoming during summer and fall of 2025 to share about their program and interact with youth and families.
Exploring is a career development program aimed at developing young people ages 14-20 with career specific skills, life skills such as interview and resume building, leadership and citizenship. Each Exploring Post is able to develop and define program delivery for the youth they serve – based on the needs of the youth and the particular career field. This program provides opportunities for young people to learn more about a career and earn experience, certificates of leadership and completion and potential accreditations specific to that career field. This also provides organizations a pipeline of potential employees.
