El Llano Grande District Banquet 2025: Celebrating Leadership and Excellence

The El Llano Grande (ELG) District Banquet, held on January 23, 2025, brought together Scouts and leaders to celebrate the achievements of 2024 and honor the individuals who have significantly impacted Scouting.

The event, hosted at Kingswood Methodist Church, was graced by special guests Col. Robert L. Johnston, Commander at Cannon Air Force Base, and his wife, Margaret. Their presence added a special touch to the evening's celebration of fellowship and recognition.

The highlight of the night was the presentation of the District Award of Merit to Conni Anderson. Her outstanding dedication to Scouting, from serving as Troop Advancement Chair and Merit Badge Counselor to her pivotal role in guiding numerous Scouts to Eagle Rank, was celebrated with heartfelt gratitude.

The banquet also recognized the Eagle Scout Class of 2024: Nathan Bjorkland, Seth Dowell, and Silas Atkinson-Adams from Troop 411, as well as Cole Campbell from Troop 226. Special acknowledgment was given to Pack, Troop, and District leaders for their commitment to supporting youth development throughout the year.

The evening concluded with a warm thank-you to all contributors and to Dion's for catering the banquet. This event reflected the unwavering spirit of service and leadership that defines the ELG District.
