On May 19, my Youth Protection Training expired—just days after the release of the new Safeguarding Youth Training. The timing wasn’t planned, but it meant I was among the first to take the new course. I’m grateful I did.
This wasn’t just a refreshed version of the old training—it’s a completely redesigned format with relevant, real-world content shared by national experts in youth protection. As someone who has spent over three decades directly serving youth, I found the material not only informative, but also deeply empowering.
In particular, the tools provided on addressing bullying and preventing sextortion stood out. These are real threats affecting today’s youth, and the training gave practical steps that every adult in Scouting should know. Never heard of sextortion? That’s exactly why this course matters. It’s time we all understand the basics—and more importantly, how we can be part of the solution.
Unfortunately, predators evolve, and so our training must too. Safeguarding Youth Training reflects this reality and strengthens our collective ability to be barriers to abuse. Even if your current Youth Protection Training is still valid, don’t wait—take the new training now. It’s well worth the time and will leave you better prepared to serve our youth safely and confidently.
Every Scout deserves a safe, supportive environment. Let’s do everything we can to make that happen—starting with this training.
If you’re aiming for a vintage-meets-modern aesthetic, the hipster fonts deliver perfectly. I’ve used it for a few café and barber shop brand mockups, and the result was always cool and trendy. It gives off that effortlessly stylish vibe and works well with minimalist designs. The balance between uniqueness and legibility makes it ideal for lifestyle branding or creative portfolios.
