Virtual Scouting- What's new?

We are really grateful for all the parents and leaders that have made our Virtual Scouting option such a success. This has been a tough year for our Scouts and all the work you have put in to helping these kids through these fun adventures has been huge.

So far this fall, Scouts have had the opportunity to learn magic tricks, teaching skills, knot tying, compass work, dog care, and much more. There are a lot of great adventures planned for this year and we think the kids are really going to enjoy all of them.

An important part of Scouting is earning recognition for the things they have done. Normally, a leader is there on hand to pass off requirements for each Scout. However, in this virtual world, we depend on parents to help us track what the Scouts have done, especially for Cub Scouts. We track these requirements through an online system called Scoutbook. Every Scout and their parents/guardians has access to this system. This way they can pass off requirements or see where the Scout currently is at with earning awards. As a note, kids in the Scout BSA program can mark that they have done something but it does need to be checked by a leader in the Troop.

Here is a video that can help you get started.
