From the Trail: Troop 228

Scoutmaster Documents Troop's Winter Camping Adventures

Winter camp is always an adventure at Camp Wehinahpay. The Scouts look forward to cold temps, snow, and good food. The yurt right above the Lake Lodge is the Troop's home away from home for the weekend. We arrived at camp last Friday at 9:00 pm and Scouts quickly prepared their living quarters for the stay.

We had a couple of Arrow of Light Scouts join us from Pack 270. Mark and Ryan are making the Cub Scout sign as they run up the snow-covered mountain slopes.

Chess, cards, and checkers are ways the Scouts pass their time when they have had enough fun in the cold. The full moon and the stars were in full show under clear skies in the beautiful Sacramento Mountains.

FROM THE TRAIL is a publication of American Legion Scout Troop 228. Troop 228 has been providing the youth of Artesia with the opportunity to go on adventures into the great outdoors for over 45 years. We strive to help the youth of today become the leaders of tomorrow.
