18 youth joined Oil Patch leaders for a Cub Scout Day Camp full of STEM fun and activities.

Janet Bruelhart and Pack 89 Assistant Cubmaster, Alex Bruelhart brought a lesson on space exploration to a build-your-own Rocket station. Pack 300’s Duane Foster brought his expertise to an assembly line-based set of water games that left campers cooled off on a hot July day.
Troop 3724’s Matt Newton taught Issac Newton’s three laws of motion and how they pertain to archery on the shooting sports where Cubs practiced their skills.
Oil Patch’s Day Camp Chair, Wesley Ganaway, highlighted how batteries and motors work together while instructing the Scouts through building their own doodling robots. One of our resident crime scene technicians brought the rainbow to life with her lesson in chromatography, then showed the Cubs their own finger and footprints and explained how the detectives can use these.
The icing on the cake was Nathaniel De La Cruz and the Lovington Robocats’ lunchtime presentation of their summer camp and competition robots.
